Welcome to Crane Lodge – No. 2660

A historic and distinguished Freemasons Lodge that has been an integral part of the Cranbrook community since its consecration on the 7th July 1897.

The Lodge was founded in the Vestry Hall of Cranbrook, with FSW Cornwallis (later Lord Cornwallis) serving as its first Master. Cornwallis was a prominent landowner of Linton Park, Maidstone, and was joined by a group of distinguished officers who were principally members of the mother lodge, Weald of Kent Lodge No 1854.

The first members of Crane Lodge included Henry Fincham, the Cranbrook Workhouse Master, a solicitor, solicitors’ clerk, two corn factors, a hop factor, and the proprietor of the Bull Hotel in Benenden. From these humble beginnings, Crane Lodge has gone on to become a well-respected institution with a rich history and a strong sense of community.

At Crane Lodge, we are committed to promoting the core values of Freemasonry, which include friendship, charity, and the pursuit of truth. We strive to create an environment where members can grow, learn, and develop both personally and professionally.

Whether you are a member of the Lodge or simply interested in learning more about Freemasonry, we invite you to explore our website and discover the many ways in which we contribute to the life of our community. From charity events to social gatherings, we are proud to be a part of the rich cultural heritage of Cranbrook and the surrounding area.
